Do they want more buffs in the outdoor world?” “Eventually you’ll of course have it all, but players can also customize their experience depending on how they’re playing outdoor content,” Hazzikostas explains. You’re gaining a deeper understanding of this group, and as you get that ability to understand and communicate, that unlocks access to narrative, but also content.”Īs players gather scraps of understanding working through Zereth Mortis, they can choose where they want to focus their learning – verbal, written, or technology. “It’s also the ability to use and understand consoles and enable events and unlock buffs and all the rest. “That unlocks some additional content, because it’s not just communication,” Hazzikostas adds. “You’re able to eventually read more of what they have to say, and you can learn more about everything in Zereth Mortis,” Wons says. Eventually, as players learn more, they’ll begin seeing translations appear. A Cypher system will allow players to slowly progress as they literally learn the language of the First Ones, unlocking not just communication but also new content to play. The new raid, Sepulcher of the First Ones, will feature recurring central character Anduin. The aesthetic of the new zone reflects the primordial building blocks of that construction. The Shadowlands expansion of World of Warcraft has been afterlife-themed, and Zereth Mortis is the home of the “First Ones,” the Progenitors who built all of the different afterlives of the Shadowlands (and the living worlds as well).
